Rock Overdose and Zisis Petkanas had the chance to talk with the ex-Evanescence ("Fallen", "Anywhere But Home" and "The Open Door"), and We Are The Fallenmember,John Le Compt. Enjoy the interview...
Rockoverdose.gr: We First Met You In Evanescence with Two of the Most Successful Albums in the past few years , And Now You Continue In A New Band Called We Are The Fallen.Tell Us About WATF's History.
John: We Are The Fallen came together by a phone call from Ben to Rocky and myself to talk about playing music together again. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted to do yet, but were certain that it had been too long since we had made music together. We subsequently flew out to LA to jam with Ben and his friend Marty O'Brien in Ben's work studio. It was like old times, as if we hadn't missed a day. We immediately began to see that the music we wanted to make was right under our noses. After much talking and planning we decided it was time to find our singer. We had no leads as to who that might be, but suddenly an acquaintance of Ben's recommended Carly. It was a good friend who thought she would be perfect. Sure enough, we met her and had some discussion only to find out that she wanted exactly what we did. The rest is history.
John:I also have a band with which I play with Rocky. It's called MACHINA. We have been together for about 5 years now and are planning on releasing our album, "To Live And Die In The Garden Of Eden" very soon. It has been recorded for about three years, but we have been waiting for the right label home and right time to do it. Phil Taylor of Future Leaders Of The World, is my vocalist and Thad Ables (my long time guitar tech and friend) rounds out the band on bass.
Rockoverdose.gr: I Saw You Have A New Dvd Coming Out.How Is it Called and how Can we get it?
John: It is called "Cirque Des Damnes" meaning "Circus Of The Damned". It is available via www.wearethefallen.com and also on www.benmoody.com. It was a fantasticly fun concert that we had for Ben's 30th birthday.
Rockoverdose.gr: Are there Any Plans For A Next Album?
John: Right now, we are all writing and planning our next move. It will most likely be in the form of our original idea to record and release two to three songs at a time, via download. The label thing has really burned all of us and we are much more in favor of independent release.
Rockoverdose.gr: Tear The World Down is An Amazing Album and Bury Me Alive became a great Hit in the radio stations. How is The new Album going to Differ from
the previous One?
John: I hope not much, because that is one of the proudest bodies of work I have ever been involved with. I can't help but write songs that sound like that for WATF.
Rockoverdose.gr: We Heard that You Are Collaborating With A Greek Band , Dreambleed?
Tell us About it.
John: Yes, I had the pleasure of collaborating on a track with Manolis and his Band Dreambleed . It was right up my alley and I think it's going to be a hit. I can only hope that my contribution will do the band justice as they are already quite spectacular.I wish them good luck with everything.
Rockoverdose.gr: Is There a Possibility of you Returning to Evanescence if they Ask you back?
John: I guess anything is possible, but not so much probable. I treasure that time in my life and hope that maybe one day everyone will grow up and appreciate what every individual brought to the table with that band. Only then would something like that ever be able to happen.
Rockoverdose.gr: Is there Any Chance For Your Greek Fans to Enjoy A Live performance anytime soon?
John: I certainly hope so. I love Greece and the fans there. It's been many years, but when I was there I took so many photographs and couldn't believe that I had made it there. The fans were so amazing. It was quite a memory that I hope to repeat someday.

Rockoverdose.gr: Do You Think That illegal Downloading Music Is helping Or Destroying Bands and Artists?
John: It most certainly has torn down the industry and taken the bread out of the artists mouth. I understand that making music isn't about getting rich and all that, but if the artist has no incentive or ability, financially, to tour the world and continue making that great music that everyone so appreciates, then he will stop. It's that simple. Music will always be there, but as long as it's free, it will continue to decline in quality and quantity. Then, all we will have is Justin Bieber and Lady GaGa.
Rockoverdose.gr: Send A Message to your Greek Fans .Thank you very much for your time .
John: I love you all and hope to see you again someday!!!
